First write your equation in the form y=mx+c
In this form m is the gradient of the line and c is the y intercept.
5 y - 6 x = 0
5 y = 6 x
y = 6 5 x
The gradient to the perpendicular is the reciprocal of that of the line and the negative
So the gradient of the line is 6 5 and the gradient of the perpendicular is - 5 6
