I would substitute the first equation into the second for r, giving:
6cos(θ)=2+2cos(θ)
And solving for θ you get:
6cos(θ)2cos(θ)=2
4cos(θ)=2
cos(θ)=12 which is valid:
for θ=π3 and θ=5π3
Substituting back you get:
r=6cos(θ)=612=3
or r=2+2cos(θ)=2+212=3 again.
Giving 2 points of intersection:
(3,π3)
(3,53π)
