first convert 60 in radians just for the sake of convenience of problem solving in trigonometry. since π  radian  =18060=(π3)  radians
now, since cos(θ)=cosθ.
so, cos(π3)=cos(π3)=12 (a standard value and should be memorised)

cos(60)=cos(60)
=12=0.5
