If sinα+sinβ=a  and  cosαcosβ=b, then what is tan(αβ2)?
If I square both the equations
2+2sin(αβ)=a2+b2
sin(αβ)=a2+b222
Since sin2θ=2tanθ1+tan2θ, then
sin(αβ)=2tanαβ21+(tanαβ2)2
It’s obviously the too long to solve, so is there a shorter way to do this?

Since a2=sinα+β2cosαβ2 while b2=sinα+β2sinαβ2,tanαβ2=ba
