In general, for any even power, substitute tan 2 θ = 1 2 tan 2 x to transform the integral to a manageable one
I 2 m = ( cos θ 1 + sin 2 θ ) 2 m d θ = 1 2 m 1 2 cos 2 m x ( 1 + cos 2 x ) m 1 d x
which, for m = 2, reduces to
I 4 = 1 2 3 / 2 cos 4 x ( 1 + cos 2 x ) d x = 1 2 5 / 2 ( 1 3 cos 5 x + 11 12 cos 3 x + 11 8 cos x ) sin x + 11 2 11 / 2 x + C
